3rd Annual Bong Airport Open House

We hope you are as excited as we are about the 3rd Annual Bong Airport Open house!

The airport opens at 7:30 with breakfast, a fly in, and flying opportunities.

Our hangar will open at 9am with lunch service starting at 11am.

At 11 am will also be hosting some fun classes for kids to learn more about aviation.

A classic car gathering is expected to arrive around 1PM

Throughout the day, you can check out our museum, hop in the pilot’s seat of our Black Cat PBY, or take some photos next to our classic warbirds.

With the entire airport open, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about aviation or even take a fun flight in a plane or helicopter and see the area from the sky.

Throughout the day, you can also visit some great local groups like the Civil Air Patrol, the Bordertown Betties, the Bong Veterans Center, the Air Force, and Lake Superior College.

Full Schedule:

7:30 AM – Doors Open at the EAA, Breakfast and Flying at EAA Hangar

11 AM – Lunch is served at Lake Superior Squadron Hangar

11 AM – Youth Aviation Education

11 AM – Lake Superior Helicopter flight (until 3)

12:30PM – World War II Warbird Run Up

1 PM  – Classic Car Gathering (until ~5)

2 PM – Dancing to the Blue Water Big Band (until ~4)
