The Lake Superior Squadron is part of the Commemorative Air Force. The CAF is an all-volunteer organization of women and men devoted to keeping vintage World War II aircraft flying and honoring the people who flew them.

We’re a small, but dedicated group committed to preserving the history of these great planes as well as the many other historical artifacts in our charge.

Our squadron has 3 aircraft assigned to it. 1 PBY is under restoration to flying status, 1 PBY is under restoration as a static display, and 1 OY-2 Sentinel is under restoration to flying status. In addition, the Lake Superior Squadron maintains 2 museums. The first museum is located on site at our hangar. The 2nd museum can be found at the Richard I Bong Veterans Historical center.
